Master Shams started his career in Taekwondo during the years of 2000 with Shotokan Karate Club (KUGB). Master Shams was a very keen sportsman and eager to learn at a rapid speed. His progress was highly appreciated, as he was thirsty for development, therefore he gained triple grade at promotion tests where he achieved a 1st Kyu Brown. After a successful time at Shotokan Karate club, Master Shams showed high interest in Taekwondo. In the years of 2003, he joined the London Taekwondo Academy (LTA), which were under the instructions of grand master Yusuf Dildar and Master Usman Dildar.
Master Shams was very interested to pursue the skills of Taekwondo further. His strong passion for Taekwondo made him determined to succeed at every level, through London Taekwondo Warriors. He achieved his black belt just under a year, due to hard work, sweat and focus. Master Shams has competed both nationally and internationally in Kyorugi and Poomsae and has successfully proven his skills and talent within Taekwondo. He has received high levels of accreditation awards and gold medals due to his commitment.
In this interview my colleague Yama Saghar talks to Master Shams about his successful career in Taekwondo, LTA and culture of sports among Afghan community in London.
