I was almost away for a long time, even can’t fit it in an exact period of time but I wanted to come back to you all with a new story. As we know now a days social networks such us Facebook and twitter are one of the best ways of digging the hidden and unheard stories/voices of the people from other side of the world. Thanks to these social network that connect us to be aware of realities.
Some days ago I was on my Facebook and found out a story and thought might be interesting to cover it, so I made the time for it and start digging it more. Although this story and case needs more time and research, since I got a detailed written explanation from my guest which was more than enough to give him the chance to speak out and share his story with the listeners.
Today I am going to introduce an ambitious and talented Afghan, to keep the introduction short. My guest is Mr. Nasrat Esmaty, he has worked for many different organizations in Afghanistan and as well abroad. As an ambitious young Afghan some years back he decided to continue his education further in the United States, after his studies were finished, he decided not to stay in US but return and work for his country and right now he is living in Kabul city.
Mr.Esmaty always had a dream to become a writer, his journey to United States and the situation he was ended up in, challenges him to become a writer and he is now the author of a novel book. He recently published his book known as “Blue blood mirage – on the other side of the illusion”. This novel is based on true stories and events, to get your copy click here.
In this podcast/show we will not only talk about his background and story. We have another segment in our show that is a widespread term “Corruption” which is likely and mostly linked to Afghans and Afghanistan’s government.
Many international organizations “NGO’s” are working in Afghanistan toward civil society development and to empower Afghan institutions to protect the basic rights of the citizens. Always these NGO’s accuse and produce many paper works “Reports”, that Afghan officials and government are involved in massive corruption.
There is no point to deny on what the NGO’s are reporting about the Afghan government and officials and as an Afghan our reaction is not that serious because we can not afford to tackle this issue, where international community failed in it already, but what if NGO’s are involved in corruption?, what will be our reactions?.
There is one main point to be raised, that how it is possible that hose who are preaching against corruption in Afghanistan they themselves are involved in unfair treatment, nepotism, favoritism and finally massive corruptions.
After the establishment of the new Afghan government in Kabul, the laws and insinuations of Afghanistan were hardly applied on any foreigner who was involved in corruptions the same case counts for Afghans officials in power with backup of the Western countries.
Today Mr.Esmaty will explain about his story that what happened to him when he applied for a job in United Nation Women “UNW”. Listen to this podcast and be the fair judge. Was he a victim of positive discrimination/affirmative or not?
