Farhad Darya (born September 22, 1962 in Kabul, Afghanistan) is one of Afghanistan’s most influential and respected singers, composers, and humanitarian figures. Known for his powerful voice and emotionally rich songs, he has produced music in several languages including Dari, Pashto, Uzbeki, and English, making him a unifying cultural figure across ethnic lines.

Darya began his musical career in the early 1980s with the band Goroh-e-Baran, later rising to national prominence as a solo artist. His work blends traditional Afghan melodies with modern musical styles, earning him wide acclaim both inside Afghanistan and among the global Afghan diaspora.

Beyond music, Farhad Darya is also recognized for his humanitarian efforts. He has served as a UNDP National Goodwill Ambassador, advocating for peace, education, and human rights. Through various charity concerts and campaigns, he has raised awareness and support for displaced families, youth, and vulnerable communities in Afghanistan.
