Our Story & Formation

Afghan Voice CIC is a London based pioneering non-profit community media organisation and online radio station established in 2011 by a former Afghan refugee with the support from a Dutch friend and extended professionals community in Brighton.

Afghan Voice CIC, as an independent community media platform have nurtured the talents of young migrants and refugee creatives, talents and artists since its establishment. We have collaborated with various community-based organisations in different boroughs across London to run media projects, festivals, cultural and arts projects for the local communities.

Our work is focused on providing a community-led digital media and creative arts space, skills training, cultural promotion, and empowering young refugees and migrants in the field of media work and studies. Through our various programs and projects, we have trained 500+ participants from diverse background to produce impactful digital content, set up their campaigns, raise awareness on social issues, produce documentaries exploring themes of displacement, cultural integration, and identity.
